Dr. Shannon Bagnet-Finley, PharmD
Owner / Clinical Director
Dr. Shannon Bagnet-Finley is an honored native of Hammond, Louisiana who loves to care for and give back to her community. Dr. Finley is also the proud wife of David Finley Jr. of 20 years and mother of Tyler and Kody Finley.
Dr. Finley received her doctorate in Pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and later completed a Pharmacy Practice residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. After completing her didactic and experiential courses in 2007, Dr. Finley soon got to work in her home town by working at a local FQHC in Independence where she assisted with the eradication of health care disparities. There she helped with the management of diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. While volunteering at this local clinic, Dr. Finley was also an Assistant Professor at Xavier University New Orleans where she educated future pharmacy graduates and used the clinic as her clinical site. While serving at both the University and the clinic, Dr. Finley received the Preceptor of the Year award in 2011 and later became a Nationally Certified Diabetes Educator. Because of her strong interest in assisting with the irradiation of health care disparities in Tangipahoa Parish, she and her husband later opened a Diabetes Clinic on July 12, 2012 in Hammond named Diabetes Care Solutions, LLC. The clinic’s initial focus was on educating, screening, and managing previously and newly diagnosed patients with diabetes. During this time, Dr. Finley underwent further training and later became an insulin pump specialist. After being opened for only 6 months, the clinic’s medical staff noticed that there was a need for family health care services in the area, so the clinic’s focus expanded to include chronic and acute care of most diseases, adult and child immunizations, mental health, and other services. The name of the clinic was then changed to DCS Family Health Clinic. After being opened for only 7 years, DCS has served over 6,500 patients and is growing rapidly each day. DCS Family has recently received the designation of a Rural Health Clinic and prides itself on being one of the largest Medicaid facilities treating both adults and pediatrics. Its new location is 19100 Dr. John Lambert Drive in Hammond. DCS will also strive to become a Federal Qualified Health Care clinic which will enable us to provide more free medical screening services and other needed health activities to the communities of Tangipahoa Parish and the surrounding area.
Dr. Finley currently attends First True Love World Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor/Teacher Carl Coleman where she serves as a minister and a youth leader. Outside of providing medical services, Dr. Finley also enjoys working with other community partners who assist her with Wheels of Christmas, Homecoming and Prom free dress give aways, Tangi 100, free diagnostic screening events, free educational seminars, and much more.
